If Halloween is on a Wednesday, it pretty much takes all day Wednesday. If it's on a Friday, all day Friday - maybe a slight candy hangover on Saturday, but then you're done. This year (you know) Halloween is on Monday. So it started yesterday at 8:30 AM. It's going to rock hard all day today and tomorrow. Monday, (no school on Monday. Why?) it will wake up with a new zest for life and rock harder than ever. All. Day. And. Night.
By Tuesday, my kids will be schizophrenic from all that sugar.
Yes, I think you can contract schizophrenia from eating too much sugar.
That's what I'm telling people.

Serious flailing today. By the time I got the kids out the door for school, we all wanted to murder each other, then I made the mistake of visiting the internet.
Children not listening to you? Maybe you're not modeling good listening.
Make getting dressed a game! Yeah. A game called Just Get Dressed Because You're 8 For Pete's Sake. Except take out the Pete and put in the Fword.
I'm not proud of myself, I'm just saying.
Then my project went all askew and by the time I got it going in the right direction, it was 2:30.
Then I lost my keys.

This should be a story about my kids' nightmares. It's not! Last night I dreamed that scary Muppets moved in next door and they were watching me constantly. Always there. Not doing anything. Just looking. If I opened the blinds, Sweetums was staring at me from the other side. I was closing the curtains and finding them open again a minute later. I was pretty sure they were getting in at night to watch me sleep. Scary, right?
Are you more freaked out by my dream or the fact that I'm telling you about it?

I had an absolute horror movie of a dream last night, in which I kept closing a door only to find it open again. Sounds fine now but it felt very someone is in the house. In the light of day, it might just be another housework frustration dream. That's a little disappointing, right? Or maybe, I'm closing the door on an opportunity because it feels a little scary. Hm.
This morning I woke up dreaming that my friend, Donna was making me laugh. It was lovely.
Dreamy photo here.

I was trying to figure out what to blog about today and then I repinned about ten of Dana's pins. Do you know her? She is the queen of whimsey and general girlish awesomeness. We are bffs and totally going out for tea after this. In my mind.
I feel a little meh about the fact that I just used "blog" as a verb. I might change it but - you know - authenticity and whatnot. Laziness. Mediocrity. Aw crud, I just ruined my good mood.

Beware any conversation that begins: "You're arty and whatever, right?" You may soon be leading third-graders through a spooky forest full of cut-paper bats inspired by the absolute loveliness of the above made by Aggie Bainbridge and available here.
After you take first-graders to the pumpkin patch. I'm pretty sure that conversation started: "You know how to drive and have car insurance, right?" I just thought I'd throw that in lest you get all full of your arty-and-whateverness.
